It’s unusual for me to photograph a wedding from my own culture without being related to the couple somehow. The island which my family comes from, Trinidad and Tobago, is a very small place where everyone knows everyone. I wasn’t apart of the bride's family, but I felt like my own was there celebrating another union. Aisha and Jerome's high energy ceremony and reception took place at Chateau Briand in Long Island, NY. After the festivities we headed to the city and strolled through the streets of the meat-packing district and along the High Line. We ended the night with a walk on the Brooklyn Bridge. Even though people crowded around us to look at Aisha' in her beautiful gown, nothing broke the concentration and love shared by this couple. They only had eyes for each other. Some couples you can just feel the love between them, and these two exude it.
